Don't put the cart before the horse

Im sure everyone has heard the old saying "don't put the cart before the horse", well that holds true in business and in life.  While we were in the concept stage of Fancave we too often caught ourselves jumping steps and peeking over the hill as we became more and more excited about what we had on our hands.  This became the perfect way to derail our progress as we would spend so much time basking in what we thought was about to happen.  It took a lot of discipline to break this habit, but doing so has immediately paid dividends.  I know personally I am a dreamer which is the direct reason why some of my ideas are very lofty goals.  The part I had to learn was how to become a doer, which allowed me to better analyze my goals to make sure they were realistic in relation to my current situation.  Ultimately there is nothing that we can't do, but we have to understand timing and how that relates to execution. It really boils down to sticking to your game plan and "ACTING LIKE YOU'VE BEEN HERE BEFORE".  Remember everything will have peaks and valleys so if you get too excited about what you have not achieved just imagine when adversity sets in, which it will in any situation.  Keep a level head and you'll be ready for anything.   www.wearefancave.com

PERSPECTIVE IS KEY

Don't get overwhelmed by your overall goals.  Allow it to be broken down into steps so you can begin your journey with the least amount of pressure.  At Fancave before we could go any further then it being just a cool idea, we had to fully complete our business plan which we referred to our playbook for our entire process.  Most of the pressure we feel is self inflicted because we want more out of life or we want our goals to be achieved quickly.  Enjoy and document the steps that go into achieving your goals.  Remember every step is its own achievement.

chapter 1. where do I go from here

We call our journey a balancing act because you can never be too prepared for what will be.  Our love of all things food and sports have opened the door to so many new possibilities.  This ride will showcase the first of many Fancave Restaurant locations but will also serve as a tool to educate some new entrepreneurs to some of the obstacles

 we have faced.  Understand that your personal affairs will always reflect in your business.  You have to first have yourself in order in order to have your business in order.  Invest in yourself as more the you invest in your business ventures.  Even though business is a passion of ours nothing can replace the memories created by enjoying your life.  Keep it all in perspective and keep your eyes on the prize.
